Doing the right thing?

The story of the week is that Hillary and Obama went to FOX News Channel. Considered to be the voice of Conservative Republicans, Ruppert Murdoch’s network is very vocal about it’s political preferences.

It’s very hard to explain FOX News for Brazilians, where there is no such a thing as a media group outspoken about its ideological preferences.

Many people who knows American and Brazilian media would say that FOX News political agenda is in the left of the main TV Network in Brazil and that the Murdoch family has more competition and diversity in its business than the Marinhos in Brazil.

But the thing that matter is: can Democrats seduce right wing Republicans, bringing them to the center, just by showing their faces on FOX News' screen?

Of course, as well documented in the DVD "Outfoxed," Fox is nothing but a Republican propaganda machine. As you point out , Obama was indeed goaded by the highly publicized clock into going on Fox, but Hillary is a different story. She has been in cahoots with the Republicans to defeat Obama for some time. She and McCain identically distorted Obama's SF comments and used the McCarthyesque tactics of guilt by association regarding Rev Wright. They are both going after Obama for not pandering to voters with the gas tax suspension-until-election scam. Rush Limbaugh tells Republicans to vote for Hillary because she'd be so easy to beat with her high negatives, dishonesty, phoniness, and untrustworthiness. Many Republicans voring for her in the current primaries hope to bury her in November.

I think this is really a positive step for Obama. Say what you will about FOX but it is the MOST WATCHED Cable news network. Also on FOX unlike MSNBC, CNN, And Headline News (excepting Glenn Beck) they almost always have people representing BOTH sides of the political argument as guests. Unlike MSNBC's Keith Oberman who only does interviews and debates with people who spout back the same vitrol that comes out of his mouth, FOX allows other voices to be heard. Does FOX Lean to the Right?, Of course, no one is denying that. But the other networks, MSNBC especially, seem to just spit out word for word stories from Media Matters, Huffington Post, and Daily KOS, with NO dissenting voices (other than the viewers Common Sense). I would rather see Obama vetted Now than have an October Suprise come up and tank his Campaign. Also, it shows me that he is not afraid to listen and Answer questions from the one Network that leans to the Right. It took guts to do an Interview on FOX, and Answer alot of the questions that have been plaguing his campaign. FOX interviews are tough, and he handled himself well. If Obama wants to win in November he needs to swing some Republican voters, and this is a VERY POSITIVE first step.

The only differnece between Fox and Freinds and Fox and Hannity's America which should be called Hannity's white America and the KKK. Is that they they no longer wear their hoods , they modernized they sell books between the Rev Wright loops. Hell they don't even belong to the United States of America, Fox has become part of Hannity's America. Do you really expect anyone to take Fox seriously anymore after the last 8 weeks . No way, no how, not ever again. If I want to watch stupid I'll turn on the cartoon network.
