Mr. Obama is expected in coming days to name his Cabinet choices to head the Energy and Interior Departments and the Environmental Protection Administration, which share responsibility for the energy and environmental issues important to Mr. Gore.
Mr. Gore is not under consideration for a job in the administratio, or to be “climate czar” in the Obama administration, a special post that has been under discussion, the Obama adviser said.

He would be good though for the Climate Czar job. World will listen to someone with high profile.
I believe the Obama team’s explanation, but there’s still the juicy thought that Hillary received State after one of these meetings. Why not Gore as Climate Czar?
While I think Al Gore would make a great Interior Secretary (for example) but I seriously doubt he would want the job. I believe that Al Gore’s value is beyond administering such a Department. He is a senior statesman and as a successful businessman he doesn’t need the paycheck.
Better that Barack give Al a prominent, non-Cabinet role in helping to set the Adminstration’s environmental policy meanwhile appointing Gore accolytes to Interior, the EPA and Energy.
Maybe instead of climate czar, the new post should be the conservation czar. Clearly, America’s days as a consumer economy are numbered. Ben Franklin said “A penny saved is a penny earned.” Let the new earning come from saving. And save the planet in the process.
I hope that Gore & Obama discuss a serious upgrade for the internet. Gore was speaking about how the internet needs a major upgrade, and that was during the 2000 election season. It is even more true today.
Al Gore is a smart guy. It’s good that he is passionate about the energy and global warming cause. I’ll bet he finally has an ear that will hear him on the cause and work to put appropriate actions into place. Since talks of the plan include repowering America and creating jobs, hopefully it works!
ROWRRRR! Al Gore looks tanned, rested and ready to rock-n-roll.
I know Gore doesn’t want to get back into the Washington scene, but, you know what? At this point in our country’s history, we don’t have the luxury to not do what we want to do.
If he’s going to ask Americans to make sacrifices to save the environment then now–when Bush Jr has done so many heinous things to the future of our environment–I think we have the right to ask him to put a clothes-pin on his nose and step back in to the Washington cesspool.
If I can grudgingly accept Hillary Clinton as SOS–a huge sacrifice–to support the Obama aministration, then Gore can darned well roll up his sleeves and get to work in the Obama administration.
